Ukraine's attacks on Russia's fuel and energy infrastructure have led to serious problems on the domestic fuel market in Russia. Moscow is already making attempts to remove or nullify import duties in order to import gasoline, diesel and other petroleum products from abroad - primarily from China and India. This was told in an interview with "Glavred" by the president of the Globalistics Center "Strategy XXI", an expert on international energy issues and security Mikhail Honchar.
According to him, Ukraine needs to expand the range of targets.
"Since 2023, we have been striking mainly at oil refining facilities of the Russian Federation, now we are hitting partially at oil transport. There were literally a few strikes on the energy system, but these were locally sensitive strikes, nothing more. And this is despite the fact that Russia has systematically attacked and is attacking our generation facilities and energy systems. We have only pinched the Russians," Gonchar said.
At the same time, Russia has destroyed almost 40% of Ukraine's gas production
"But we have not even started hitting Gazprom's facilities yet, and here we have a place to go wild," the expert said.
Gonchar is sure that the option of energy blockade of the capital region of the Russian Federation, i.e. Moscow and the region, should be on the agenda.
"Because the territory of Russia is huge, we can not cover it all, and there is no need. All the 'devils of hell' are sitting in Moscow, so we just need to extinguish the capital of the Russian Federation," the expert believes.
