Moscow was under attack.
On the night of November 1, Russia was hit by a massive drone attack - air defense forces claim to have shot down 98 drones in ten regions, including Moscow.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
According to the agency, the attack lasted from 23:00 on October 31 to 7:00 on November 1.
The most - 45 drones - were shot down over the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine. Another 12 UAVs were destroyed over the Samara region, and 11 in the Moscow region, six of them on the approach to the Russian capital.
In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry said:
10 drones were shot down over the Voronezh and Rostov regions;
4 over the Tula region;
two each over the Lipetsk and Ryazan regions;
one each over the Kursk and Kaluga regions.
The previous day, on the evening of October 31, the Russian military also reported the destruction of 38 drones over three regions - the Belgorod and Voronezh regions and Crimea. According to them, 34 drones were allegedly eliminated over the Belgorod region, two each over the Voronezh region and the Crimean peninsula.
Independent sources have not yet confirmed these data, and the Ukrainian side traditionally does not comment on reports of attacks on Russian territory.
What is known about the blackout in the Moscow region
On the night of October 31 to November 1, a large-scale power outage was recorded in the Moscow region - thousands of residents of the region were left without light.
Local Telegram channels reported that streets and premises were plunged into darkness around 23:00 local time, and the administration of the city of Zhukovsky confirmed that the cause was an "emergency situation in the power system."
Russian official sources have not provided a full explanation of the reasons for the outage, creating information uncertainty around the event.
