Lithuania Recorded A Record Number Of Attempts To Violate The Border By Belarus In Three Years

Over the past 24 hours, October 31, Lithuania recorded 63 attempts by migrants to illegally cross the border from Belarus, according to data on the website of the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service (SOGG).

Lithuanian State Border Guard Service (SOGG) advisor Gedrius Misutis told the ELTA news agency that this is a record for the past three years. He noted that on October 25, 2022, border guards prevented 81 migrants from entering, after which their daily number was much lower until yesterday.

Mishutis said a group of 32 people first tried to break into the territory, followed a couple of minutes later by another 27 at half a kilometer away, then 10 minutes later by three at 2 kilometers, and later by one.
