The footage was taken from a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter.
The AFU shoot down dozens and hundreds of enemy UAVs every day, but on November 12, one of the Russian Shahed managed to destroy one in a particularly spectacular way.
Ukrainian Mi-8 approached the occupants' drone, a military man using an M134 Minigun machine gun fired several bursts at the target, as a result of which the UAV was hit, smoked, spiraled downward and crashed, followed by detonation.
The video of machine gun fire on the drone was published in the Telegram channel "Ukraine 365".
The footage was also published on social network X, where the video sparked an active discussion. One user asked about the ratio between the cost of spent ammunition and the cost of a shot down drone.
Another wondered whether the appearance of side cameras on the drone would change the situation in aerial combat. Users also wondered whether it would be more effective to use tracer ammunition, to which they received a quite professional answer.
"Tracers are not on the record. They either don't exist (in the AFU military) or they are not used because of the danger of helicopter detection," the user with the nickname "Rafael" emphasized.
