Foreign Fighters Will Be Given More Opportunities In The AFU

Foreign volunteers who plan to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be given much broader opportunities. In particular, they will be allowed to choose their own brigade, direction of service and the like when signing a contract.

The AFU Ground Forces report that.

"The separate formats that were introduced in 2022 fulfilled their role during the most acute period of the country's defense and allowed for the rapid integration of foreigners ready to join the ranks. At the same time, the situation at the front, the structure of the Defense Forces and the needs of combat units have changed significantly," the AFU said.

The Defense Forces are now changing their approach to foreign volunteers. The plan is to make the most of their experience, motivation and professional skills. People will be sent where their experience is needed the most.

What foreign volunteers can expect when signing a contract:

The right to choose their own combat brigade;

The right to choose their own direction and specifics of application - according to what training, experience and skills the volunteer has.

"This ensures better integration, equal opportunities with Ukrainian fighters and more rational use of human resources. The Army appreciates the contribution of foreign volunteers in the defense of Ukraine, their sacrifice, motivation and dedication to our common values," the AFU Army said.
