Geolocation footage disproved the lies of Russian propaganda.
Russian troops have intensified their assault operations near Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region, in an attempt to fully capture the city.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported.
According to geolocation footage released on October 31 and November 1, the occupiers have recently advanced into the central and southeastern parts of the city.
Russian propagandists claim that the invaders have allegedly deepened into the center of Pokrovsk and advanced towards the settlement of Kotlino. At the same time, a senior officer of one of the Ukrainian brigades, which holds the defense in this direction, said that Russian troops now control about 60 percent of the city's territory and have entered Rodinskoye and Mirnograd.

Despite this, new geolocation footage shows that Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions and have sometimes even advanced in the center of Rodinskoye - in areas previously declared "captured" by Russian propaganda.
A senior sergeant in a Ukrainian brigade operating near Kostyantynivka and Druzhkivka said that after the failed assault on October 27, the Russians have reduced activity on this section of the front, probably redeploying some forces to reinforce their offensive on Pokrovsk and Mirnograd.

A Ukrainian drone operator operating near Pokrovsk said the enemy is trying to tactically isolate some Ukrainian positions. A representative of a Ukrainian brigade said that the supply situation in the area remains difficult, but Russian troops have so far failed to cut Ukrainian communication routes.
Military personnel from Mirnograd confirmed that Russian units in the north of Pokrovsk and northeast of Mirnograd are operating more confidently. According to them, Russian FPV drone operators are operating at a distance from which they can threaten Ukrainian logistics routes between the towns.
One of the officers of the Ukrainian unit said that the Russians are practically controlling fire along the narrow road that delivers resources to Mirnograd. Due to the active use of drones and dynamic fighting, the situation on the front near Pokrovsk remains tense.
Pokrovsk
On October 31, the Ukrainian military carried out an airborne operation west of Pokrovsk. According to the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Assault Troops, the landing was successful. According to ISW sources in the Main Intelligence Directorate, several helicopters took part in the special operation, landing special forces units in areas that the Russians had previously claimed as "captured".
The GSD noted that these areas are important for Ukrainian logistics in the direction of Pokrovsk. Geolocation footage shows the moment of a landing from a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in an area the enemy believed to be under its control.
On November 1, the Russian Defense Ministry said it had allegedly repelled a Ukrainian counteroffensive. At the same time, even Russian military bloggers admitted that Ukrainian helicopters managed to operate without losses in an area saturated with Russian drones, which casts doubt on the effectiveness of the Russian air defense system in this area.
What is happening in Pokrovsk
Pokrovsk remains one of the hottest areas of the front. Recently, the enemy has managed to conduct several sabotage groups, and the number of Russian troops in the area until recently was estimated at about 200 people.
It is telling that over the past week, Vladimir Putin has several times declared the alleged "encirclement" of Pokrovsk and even ordered to "allow journalists" into the area of military operations.
The Ukrainian side, however, refutes these claims. On the contrary - a large-scale operation to liberate the city and oust the occupants has recently begun. Earlier, it became known about the landing operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, aimed at restoring control over important logistical routes.
