American President Donald Trump has appointed U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll as his new special envoy to promote a peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.

A delegation of U.S. military officials - a group of U.S. generals - plans to visit Moscow late next week, according to the publication's sources.

The purpose of the trip is to discuss the details of the US peace plan directly with Kremlin officials.

To promote the peace plan, Trump has appointed Driscoll as his new special envoy.

It is noted that Driscoll is a friend and former classmate of US Vice President JD Vance.
