Forbes Estimates The Population Of Ukraine

The number of people living in the free territory of the country has been named.

Analysts of Forbes Ukraine suggest that there are approximately 30.5 million people left in the free territory of Ukraine. They came to this conclusion using four alternative methods of estimation, the main of which is the level of water consumption, according to the website of the publication.

"The total population within the internationally recognized borders is 35-35.5 million. This is close to the number of people who lived on this territory in the 1920s, and only 2 million more than after World War II," the publication writes.

The last census in Ukraine was held in 2001 As of December 1, 2019, the population of Ukraine (without the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass and Crimea) was 37.29 million people.

In 2023, Ukraine together with Apple planned to conduct a census on innovative technologies. This was prevented by a full-scale war.

The State Statistics Service reported that it was going to conduct an estimate of Ukraine's population by the end of the year - it will not replace the census, but it will be the best of what is now possible, said the head of the State Statistics Service Arsen Makarchuk.

Makarchuk said that the request to estimate the population is hardly the most massive: from state authorities, local bodies, businesses and citizens.
