U.S. Secretary Of The Army Meets With Russian Delegation In UAE

The negotiations lasted several hours.

U.S. Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll held talks with a Russian delegation on the peace process in the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi.

According to CBS News interlocutors, Driscoll met in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi with a Russian delegation on Monday evening, November 24. The meeting lasted several hours.

"He plans to meet with them again during the day [Nov. 25] to discuss the peace process and move the peace talks forward quickly," the interlocutor told CBS News.

It is not yet clear who, other than the minister, is part of the U.S. delegation. It is also unclear who represents the Russian side.

The FT writes, citing sources, that Kiev was informed about the contacts in advance. Driscoll may also meet soon with the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), Kyrill Budanov.
