The most difficult questions were decided to be left for Trump's personal meeting with Zelensky.
U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll is holding meetings with a Russian delegation and the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrill Budanov, in Abu Dhabi to discuss an American peace plan, sources tell Financial Times.
The talks with Moscow representatives began Monday evening, Nov. 24, and were to continue Tuesday, they said. It was not specified who exactly came from the Kremlin. The meeting with Budanov will also take place on Tuesday.
Driscoll presents US President Donald Trump's plan, which was reduced from 28 to 19 points after talks with the Ukrainians in Kiev and Geneva.
It was stripped of demands to hand Donbass and other sensitive territorial provisions to Russia, two sources familiar with the process told Politico.
The most difficult issues were left for face-to-face talks between Trump and Zelensky, they said. According to ABC News, provisions to limit the size of the Ukrainian army and amnesty for acts committed during the war were also excluded from the original plan.
