A military officer compared the types of drones of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

The enemy has a quantitative and qualitative advantage in providing its troops with drones on fiber optics. Thanks to such means, he is actively trying to block the logistics of the AFU, preventing them from reaching the forward positions.

At the "Channel 24" the commander of the Ukrainian 429 separate regiment of unmanned systems "Achilles" Yuriy Fedorenko told about it, explaining that the Russians have more of them, because the main manufacturer of microboards and high-quality fiber-optic cable to these UAVs is China. This country directly cooperates with Russia, transferring the best technologies to it.

In which drones do the AFU have parity, and in what do they lag behind?"

Ukraine is trying to develop drone production in order to achieve parity with the enemy. According to Fedorenko, it succeeds relative to drones on a conventional solution, where the signal is transmitted on a certain frequency range through an airborne repeater. Moreover, in some parts of the front, the AFU is ahead of the Russian army in terms of the number of such UAVs.

The Ukrainian army also has an advantage in terms of the number, production efficiency and use of heavy night bombers of the Baba Yaga type on the battlefield. Speaking about Mavic-type copters, which allow to see the front line of the battle, to monitor online, to carry payload (to drop ammunition on the enemy), Russia has more of these types.

- Due to the fact that there is a ban on the sale of Dji products to Ukraine, while Russia imports them in containers without any barriers. Ukrainian companies are actively developing an alternative to these Mavic. But for today these are non-alternative means for reconnaissance," Fedorenko stated.

Interceptor drones are on the rumor now. As the commander of the 429th regiment "Achilles" noted, Ukraine and Russia have parity regarding these air defense means. Thanks to such a drone, the JIC managed to shoot down enemy reconnaissance drones like Zala, Orlan, as well as strike Lancet, Lightning.

For six months Ukrainian soldiers effectively quietly countered such enemy drones, but in order to attract additional funding and scale the number of such interceptors, it was necessary to disclose information on how the JIC managed to do it. After that, the Russians began to develop the same kind of tool.

There are still strike assets of the "Krylo" type. The enemy had in his arsenal barrage munition "Lancet". These he used on the front line, looking for Ukrainian logistics and artillery. At the beginning of 2025 Ukraine had nothing to respond to this, but now the JICs have Ukrainian RAM-2X, Bulava.

- In some nomenclatures the enemy significantly dominates, and in certain ones we have parity or even an advantage, as in heavy bombers. In some types of drones we managed to make a breakthrough and reach the technical level of the enemy, and we still need to work hard on certain varieties," Fedorenko emphasized.

To summarize, the commander of the 429th separate regiment "Achilles" pointed out that the JMA today has in service "diplostrikes" - long-range drones that fly on the territory of Russia, destroying its oil refining industry, attacking those facilities where the enemy produces spare parts for weapons of mass destruction and collects ammunition.
