FT: Poland To Start Using Drones To Protect Railroads From Sabotage
- 26.11.2025, 13:13
In mid-November, there was an explosion of the tracks on the Warsaw-Lublin line.
Poland is considering using drones to monitor and protect its railroad and energy infrastructure. This is reported by The Financial Times.
Poland's State Treasury Minister Wojciech Balczun said "special zones" could be created around infrastructure, particularly oil refineries, where drones would monitor the situation on the ground and possibly shoot down enemy drones.
"If we have drone technology, we should use it to protect our critical infrastructure," Balchun said.
The minister said the country's security decisions were heavily influenced by the "railroad incident." This refers to the undermining of tracks on the Warsaw-Lublin line in mid-November.
