The occupiers wanted to shoot him.
In Pokrovsk, Ukrainian storm troopers rescued a twin from the captivity of Russian occupants. This is stated in published on the page of the 425th separate assault regiment "Skala".
It is noted that during the operation in Pokrovsk, the regiment's command received information that at one of the enemy positions there is a Ukrainian serviceman from an adjacent unit, who was captured.
So, it was decided to send an assault group there, destroy the enemy and free his fellow soldier.
The rescued serviceman from the 157th Brigade said that he lost his way and accidentally came to the enemy position. It was there that he was taken prisoner. They took away the man's radio and wanted to listen to the conversations of Ukrainian servicemen. However, he blocked the radio.
The Russians offered a Ukrainian prisoner of war to fight for them, but they were refused. So, the enemy decided to shoot the Ukrainian soldier, but this did not happen thanks to the rescue operation of the assault unit.
Despite the high risk, it was decided to hit the dugout, which should have made it easier for the assault twosome that was on its way to rescue. After the shelling, the enemy group began to withdraw, and the prisoner had a chance to escape. So, his brothers found him and rescued him.
