Belarusian Band Litesound Won The Jury Of The Lithuanian Contest

Musicians supported the protests in 2020.
The band Litesound, which represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, performed at the Lithuanian talent show. The musicians performed one of the most famous compositions of the XX century - Imagine John Lennon. Their performance won over the jury, and, as TV3.lt notes, the band has a chance of making it to the finals.
"Even though we are in Lithuania now, we still have to choose our words very carefully. We are here together with our mother, but our father is still in custody," said one of the soloists, Vladimir Karjakin.
In the spring of 2023, the Karjakin brothers and their parents were punished with "home chemistry" under part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code (organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them), as well as under part 2 of article. 295 of the Criminal Code (illegal actions with weapons, ammunition or explosives), which provides for up to seven years in prison.
