Impressive Figures: A Ukrainian Pilot Spoke About The Efficiency Of Mirage Airplanes

France is gradually transferring about 20 Mirage 2000s to Ukraine.

A Ukrainian pilot who flies one of the few Dassault Mirage 2000 fighter jets has said that the French aircraft demonstrates near-perfect performance in countering Russian air threats. According to him, the efficiency of intercepting drones and missiles is 98%, writes Business Insider.

The pilot's identity was not disclosed - his face is hidden, his name was not given.

"The efficiency of intercepting enemy drones and missiles on this plane is 98%. These are impressive figures," he said.

According to the crew, the Mirage 2000 has already destroyed at least 12 Kh-101 cruise missiles that Russia launches from the air. Technician Dmitry demonstrated the Magic 2 air-to-air missile used for such intercepts.

"It has performed exceptionally well. Its hit probability is practically 100 percent," the technician noted.

On board the aircraft, stenciled marks of downed targets can be seen - six in the last period alone, though in fact, according to the aviator, "there are many more."

France is gradually transferring about 20 Mirage 2000s to Ukraine. Kiev now has only five or six of these machines - one plane was lost in July. Because of this, the Ukrainian military uses the practice of constantly changing takeoff sites.

The crew noted: the video was shot on the third runway in a week, making it difficult for the Russians to track and hit the planes.

Need longer-range missiles

Despite the high efficiency of the Mirage 2000, the crew notes: to combat massive Russian strikes, medium or longer-range missiles are needed.

The pilot noted that it takes "something between efficiency and cost" to defend against the flow of Russian drones and missiles.

Ukraine is preparing for the Rafale and a new fleet of fighters

The pilot also commented on the possibility of switching to the more modern Rafale.

"Since it is an aircraft from the same country, retraining for the Rafale will be much faster," he explained.
