US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has arrived on the US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, which is in the Caribbean Sea. This was announced by the Pentagon on its social media page X.

The agency published a video showing Hegseth in a helmet walking on the deck surrounded by military personnel.

"Welcome to the USS Gerald R. Ford, Secretary of War," the publication said.

On November 15, Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro appealed to American citizens to prevent war in the Caribbean. He called a potential armed conflict a "tragedy" for the whole of America and expressed the view that the U.S. actions are directed against "all humanity."
