The U.S. will begin "very soon."
The US will start taking steps to stop suspected Venezuelan drug traffickers on land "very soon".
This was reported by Reuters, citing US President Donald Trump.
"You've probably noticed that people don't want to ship by sea, and we're going to start stopping them on land as well. It's easier to do it on land, and we're going to start doing it very soon," Trump said, speaking online to U.S. military personnel.
Venezuela's communications ministry has not yet commented on the matter, Reuters writes.
The Trump administration is considering options to deal with Venezuela, specifically the illegal "president," a friend of Belarusian dictator Lukashenko, Nicolas Maduro, who is allegedly involved in drug shipments to the United States. Maduro denies any ties to the illegal drug trade.
