The oil tanker Kairos (Kairos) without cargo has exploded on a mine north of the Turkish coast and may sink, reported 28 Bloomberg, citing the words of a local port agent.
The Turkish Maritime Administration said that the tanker, traveling to Novorossiysk under the flag of Gambia, had a fire "due to external impact," RIA Novosti writes. The Turkish Ministry of Transport specified that the entire crew - 25 people - was evacuated.
According to Bloomberg, the tanker Kairos is under sanctions by the European Union and Britain over the transportation of Russian oil. The tanker made a previous voyage from the Russian port of Novorossiysk to Paradip, India's largest port.
