She noted that although there is an extensive power grid around Moscow with several ring power lines and powerful air defense, because everything possible has been pulled there. According to her, it is still quite difficult to overcome this defense.

The nuclear energy and security expert added that the Vladimirskaya substation, which has already been hit recently, receives power from the Noginskaya substation, which has a direct connection to Moscow.

Kosharnaya notes that the area also hosts large energy-consuming industrial enterprises, such as the Lipetsk metallurgical plant and military plants. Consequently, the purpose of the strikes is not to cause a mass blackout among civilians, but to disable defense-industrial facilities.

"We are not at war against civilians, unlike the Russians. Of course, we have to be very careful not to be accused of 'mirror' actions later," she summarizes.
