Top NATO General: Russia Could Strike The Alliance As Early As Tomorrow

It depends on three factors.

Russia could launch a limited strike against NATO "as early as tomorrow" if it wants to, and by 2029 - a much larger one, as Moscow is actively rearming. German Lieutenant General Alexander Solfrank, head of the NATO allies' Joint Operations Command, said this in an interview with Reuters.

"If you look at Russia's current capabilities and combat power, it could launch a limited attack on NATO territory as early as tomorrow. Small, quick and limited to the region, nothing large-scale - Russia is too busy in Ukraine for that," he told reporters.

Solfrank said whether Russia will attack NATO depends on three factors: Moscow's military power, its military achievements and its leadership.

"These three factors lead me to the conclusion that a Russian attack is quite possible. Whether it will take place or not depends largely on our own behavior," the lieutenant general stressed.
