Ukraine has been elected to the Executive Board of UNESCO.
Ukraine will become a member of the Executive Board of UNESCO. It gained the most votes at the elections.
It was announced by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky in Telegram.
- Today Ukraine has been elected to the Executive Board of UNESCO for 2025-2029 with the largest number of votes. Together with Romania and Moldova, we are ahead of Russia: for the second time Moscow has lost the election and will not join the Council," the President noted.
The Ukrainian head of state thanked the states that supported Ukraine's candidacy.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine will use all the opportunities that UNESCO gives to restore life, protect Ukrainian culture, heritage and people.
- We will ensure that all forms of Russian aggression - be it war or hybrid threats - will be properly repulsed. There is no alternative to peace. It is time for Moscow to realize this," he added.
