Drones Hit A Special Rosneft Refinery

Explosions occurred in Saratov and Engels.

On the evening of December 12 and after midnight, the Saratov region of Russia was attacked by drones. The network reported strikes on the Saratov oil refinery, reports "Focus".

Russian authorities have confirmed a drone strike on the region, with Saratov Region Governor Roman Busargin reporting the destruction of infrastructure in Saratov.

Local Telegram channels reported that at least 10 explosions were heard in Saratov and Engels amid the drone attack and Russian air defense was active. Before that, Rosaviation introduced a "Cover" plan at the airports of Saratov and neighboring Penza.

Russian Telegram channels, citing eyewitness data, said that as of 02:15 hours, the attack on the Saratov region continued. A fire was recorded in one of the city's districts after a series of explosions - by that time they had already counted more than 20 of them.

Russians also claim that about a dozen drones were shot down in the sky above the region.

At the same time, monitoring channels claim that a local oil refinery in Saratov came under drone attack. The same information was confirmed by the head of the SNBO CPD Andrey Kovalenko in his Telegram-channel.

It is probably about the "Saratov Oil Refinery" owned by Rosneft. The enterprise is considered one of the oldest plants of this type in the territory of the Russian Federation. The volume of oil refining was 4.8 million tons as of 2023, according to open sources.
