Bundestag MP Calls For Transfer Of Taurus Missiles To Ukraine

Roderich Kiesewetter also called for a demonstrated willingness to give credible security guarantees to Kiev.

Bundestag deputy from the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Roderich Kiesewetter said it is necessary to hand over long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine and demonstrate readiness to give reliable security guarantees to Kiev. His words are quoted by Tagesspiegel.

"Until we deliver Taurus missiles <...>, take over air defense over western Ukraine and demonstrate readiness to provide reliable security guarantees, Russia will remain completely indifferent," Kiesewetter said.

Before that, Kiesewetter sharply criticized the idea of returning to the supply of energy resources from Russia to Germany. Thus he commented on the call of the Prime Minister of Saxony Michael Kretschmer for the resumption of supplies from the Russian Federation. He explained this by the fact that the Russian Armed Forces are daily strikes on the territory of Ukraine and, in particular, on the facilities of the country's energy infrastructure.
