The AFU Told How Many Russians Are Blocked In Kupyansk

There's a sweep of the city underway.

The Ukrainian military is very cautiously liberating Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, to minimize losses. About 200 Russian soldiers are blocked in the city.

This was stated by Viktor Tregubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, "RBC-Ukraine" reported with reference to the broadcast of a national telethon.

"According to preliminary estimates of our intelligence, as of the end of last week, there were 40 active call signs in radios. This means that 40 people are actively using radios, 40 unique users of radios," Tregubov noted.

"The situation is developing because the Russians are now virtually blocked in the city, and there is a gradual squeezing out of them. It would be easy to strike exclusively at those positions where the Russians are holed up, but this could entail civilian casualties and unnecessary destruction, which we do not want to allow," the head of the communications department of the United Forces Group added.
