The leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom will also come to the German capital.
European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and the leaders of Britain, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Sweden are set to join talks to resolve Russia's war with Ukraine in Berlin, writes Reuters.
The El Mundo newspaper reports that French President Emmanuel Macron will also come to Berlin. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will also be at the talks. Spain's prime minister will not attend the meeting.
The talks on Ukraine have already reached a "turning point," according to von der Leyen and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Earlier, on Dec. 12, the EU decided to freeze Russia's assets indefinitely. On December 18, EU leaders are due to meet to agree on the details of a reparation loan for Ukraine at the expense of Russian assets.
The talks between Ukrainian and US delegations in Berlin began on December 14 and lasted more than five hours. On December 15, the sides continued their work. The meeting lasted about two hours. Both sides noted progress at the end of the talks.
