Russian Soldiers Were Completely Surrounded In The Center Of Kupyansk

The occupiers barricaded themselves in the basements.

Soldiers of the 121st and 122nd motorized rifle regiments of the Russian Armed Forces have found themselves completely surrounded in the center of Kupyansk, Kharkiv Region. They barricaded themselves in the basements of residential buildings.

Kupyansk itself has been almost completely liberated from the Russian occupants, the Ukrainian guerrilla movement "Atesh" reported, citing its agents in the Russian army.

"More than 30 servicemen of the 121st and 122nd motorized rifle regiments remained completely surrounded in the central city hospital of Kupyansk. There are also reports that several more groups of Russian servicemen have barricaded themselves in the basements of residential buildings near the hospital - with no way to get out," the report said.

Ukrainian guerrillas specified that the mass encirclement came as a surprise to the Russians.

The Atesh emphasized that they use their position at the division headquarters to pass information about the Russian command's plans, as well as to sabotage orders from Russia's top military leadership.

"Fighting continues on the outskirts of the city," the Atesh stressed.
