Five Documents: Zelensky Intrigued By Details Of Meeting With Trump

Ukraine is counting on the decision of the US Congress.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that he will meet with U.S. leader Donald Trump when the "peace plan" is finalized.

After two days of talks in Berlin, representatives of the U.S. negotiating delegation will hold consultations with the Russians and then meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. At the same time, Ukrainian and American officials will hold the next peace plan talks in the United States.

"Further after this meeting will be seen. We will think about a meeting at the level of leaders, at least with the US president," Zelensky said.

According to him, Ukraine is counting on five documents of the "peace plan" to be approved by the US Congress.

"We are counting on five documents, some of them on 'security guarantees,' that is, voted, approved by the US Congress. Where there is a Fifth Amendment, as in NATO, that is mirroring the Fifth Amendment for everybody who is in the Alliance. And this will be voted by Congress, there are agreements on this, and this is very important," the president said, answering media questions.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is now "very close" to "strong security guarantees."

"Of course, we are people of war, and in times of war we believe the facts, so theoretically we see good elements on paper today. But the facts, this again I confirm and go back, is the vote in the Congress of the United States of America," he added.

Zelensky said he spoke with Trump today, as did European leaders, and all the steps were discussed.

"I think that when we finalize the documents or get closer to the final version of the documents, we will meet with him," he said.
