The NYT revealed the details.
The United States, along with its European partners, has drafted two documents outlining a plan to support Ukraine after a possible peace agreement.
This is reported by The New York Times.
According to the publication, the plan calls for strengthening Ukraine's armed forces, deploying European troops on Ukrainian territory to deter a new, possible invasion by the Russian Federation, and more active involvement of American intelligence capabilities.
One of the two documents contains specific directives for various scenarios of a possible new invasion by the Russian Federation. At the same time, the knowledgeable sources said, they contain specific directives for various scenarios of a possible new Russian Federation invasion. The unnamed U.S. official noted that they "very clearly" spell out mechanisms for deterring further attacks and responding in case of their resumption.
One of the key tasks is to increase the size of Ukraine's armed forces to 800,000 in peacetime. For this, as noted, Ukraine will require stable and significant support from partners. The European diplomat said that the documents contain a list of specific weapons and military capabilities needed by Kiev, but did not disclose details.
The plan also describes the role of European security forces that could operate in Ukraine, in particular to ensure security in the air and maritime space. Such units are expected to be based primarily in the west of the country, but the list of participating states has not yet been determined.
Separately spelled out are mechanisms for U.S. participation in identifying possible false-flag operations of the Russian Federation, which Moscow could use as a pretext for resuming hostilities.
European officials note that cooperation with U.S. negotiators and U.S. President Donald Trump has improved significantly recently.
"We see real and concrete progress. It has become possible thanks to the concerted action of Ukraine, Europe and the United States," European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.
