Predictions are coming true.
"Growth" of Belarus' GDP has seriously slowed down. The volume of GDP amounted to Br258 billion in January - November. It's 1.3% more than in the same period last year.
At the end of 2025, the authorities planned GDP growth of 4.1%. Earlier, officials voiced the problems in the economy - from price hikes to difficulties with the sale of Belarusian goods in Russia, writes "Zerkalo".
Alexander Lukashenko said on September 8 that the biggest problem for Belarus today is to find new markets for domestic products, which can't be realized "due to certain objective reasons" in Russia. And on October 15, the politician discussed with Prime Minister Alexander Turchin the problems in industry - the decline in production and supply of goods abroad.
In the meantime, the International Monetary Fund has revised its forecast on the situation in the economy of Belarus. Compared to the previous analysis, its expectations have worsened.
The World Bank has also reduced the forecast for the Belarusian economy - it expects the GDP of our country to grow by 1.9% in 2025, while in 2026 - by 1.3%. This estimate is lower than in June - then it was expected that the GDP of our country would increase by 2.2% and 1.2%, respectively.
In the opinion of economist Anatoli Kharitonchik, the GDP will add 2-3% at the end of this year. He expects inflationary pressure to intensify, accompanied by a growing foreign trade deficit - the excess of imports over exports - and a decline in the economy's resistance to external shocks.
