On the night of December 24, two officers of the Russian Interior Ministry were killed on Yeletskaya Street in Moscow in Moscow. According to sources "RBC-Ukraine" in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the deceased had previously taken part in the war against Ukraine and were involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war.
According to the newspaper's interlocutors, at around 1 a.m. a local resident who had declared his disagreement with the Kremlin's policy attacked the law enforcement officers. He approached a police vehicle near the police station and threw an explosive device through the car window, after which an explosion took place.
As a result of the incident, two Russian policemen were killed on the spot, while two others were seriously injured and hospitalized, sources in the military intelligence service said.
The GUR also claimed that the dead Interior Ministry officers had previously participated in combat operations as part of Russian occupation units. In addition, according to the Ukrainian side, there is evidence of their involvement in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which, as noted, is a violation of the Geneva Conventions and norms of international humanitarian law.
