Zelensky: US Will Support Ukraine If Russia Refuses Peace

Washington is ready to give Kiev real security guarantees.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky after a meeting with White House chief Donald Trump said there is no alternative to peace, but the United States is ready to continue supporting Ukraine if Russia reneges on the agreement and continues the war, unian.net reported.

The Ukrainian president emphasized that any agreements must be based on real security guarantees. Under the agreement with Washington, these guarantees must be supported by the US Congress and the Ukrainian parliament, while agreements with European partners must be ratified by their national parliaments.

The 20-point plan to end the war, according to Zelensky, Ukraine considers it necessary to consolidate it in an all-Ukrainian referendum as the strongest form of legitimization.

At the same time, he noted that holding a referendum or elections is possible only under the condition of at least 60 days of a complete ceasefire and the presence of a reliable security system - for such conditions, the president said.
