Armen Sargsyan is involved in murders in Ukraine.
As a result of the explosion that thundered in the capital of the aggressor country Russia on February 3, the president of the Boxing Federation of the so-called DPR and the founder of the Arbat battalion Armen Sargsyan could have died, writes New Voice.
Criminal boss Armen Sargsyan, who is part of the inner circle of the former fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych, has been on the international wanted list since May 2014 for involvement in organizing murders in the center of Kyiv.
In December 2024, Sargsyan was suspected of recruiting prisoners to fight in the war against Ukraine. As reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, law enforcement officers have established that Armen Sargsyan, known as Armen Gorlovsky, is hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region and is cooperating with the Russian FSB.
According to the SSU, after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, a combat group was ordered to be created — the new formation was called the “separate special forces battalion “ArBAT”, and it included repeat offenders convicted of serious crimes. To recruit prisoners, the Russian special services appointed Sargsyan as the so-called “overseer” of prisons in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbas.
The militants of the ArBAT group first operated in the Toretsk direction, and were then transferred to the Kursk region for assault operations against the Ukrainian military.
