The dictator is concerned about potatoes.
A deficit, which, it would seem, would never happen, has emerged in Belarus. Lukashenka said that there are no potatoes in the country, which became a reason for discussion at a meeting on a new system of price regulation, the Ukrainian comments.ua website writes.
Lukashenka pointed out that potato prices had risen by 10% in two months and asked the question: ‘How did it happen that we have no potatoes? We can't produce enough and store it for winter for sale?’ He appealed to the State Control Committee (SCC) to sort out the prices and production of the vegetable, demanding a solution to the problem.
‘We should kick these managers out to hell. We can't produce enough potatoes!’ Lukashenka was indignant.
The statement went viral on the Web, and people were joking that ‘doomsday’ had begun in Belarus. Many of them expressed indignation that Lukashenka was more concerned about potatoes amid the threat of World War III, comparing the situation to an anecdote.
