The maneuvers were dubbed "Ferocious Wolf."
Lithuanian army exercises have begun in Lithuania's Vareni district, which borders Grodno Region, and at the Gaižiunai firing range.
The tactical exercise is called Arsus vilkas 2025 ("Ferocious Wolf 2025") and runs from August 11 to 22, according to the press service of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry.
About 350 servicemen and 50 pieces of equipment are expected to take part in the exercise. In the first week, infantry companies and headquarters in Varena district will conduct "defensive actions in populated areas" using BMPs and other equipment. In the second week, the exercises with live firing will be held at the firing range.
It should be noted that the exercises in Lithuania are held against the background of the arrival of the Russian military in Belarus. In September, the maneuvers "West 2025" will begin in our country. Many experts believe that the Kremlin may use them for provocations against the Baltic States.
