In Minsk, the sentence was announced for the former first deputy head of the Belarusian Railway Petr Dulub, who during the search was found almost $3 million.
The top manager was accused of taking bribes from representatives of commercial organizations. According to the investigation, Dulub organized the transit of coal from Kazakhstan to Poland through the territory of Belarus, "lobbying the interests of a private company" for a bribe. He also repeatedly received bribes for the transfer of cars belonging to the Belarusian Railway to commercial structures for use.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the first deputy head of the Belarusian Railway received more than $600 thousand (in equivalent) from representatives of four forwarding companies during his activities.
The court of Zavodskiy district of Minsk sentenced him to 11 years of imprisonment with a maximum possible fine of five thousand basic units (Br210 thousand). Dulub was also deprived of the right to hold positions related to the execution of organizational and administrative duties for 5 years.
One year of imprisonment was canceled in accordance with the current amnesty.
