"The Russians' 'performance' Ended Fatally"

The AFU trapped the occupiers in the area of Dobropillya.

The situation on the front near Pokrovsk remains tense. Russian troops have increased pressure, trying to encircle the city and bypass the AFU fortifications, including including near Dobropillya.

What is happening on this section of the front? The site Charter97.org talked to Ukrainian military and political observer of the group "Information Resistance" Alexander Kovalenko about it:

- In the area of Pokrovsk the situation is difficult - it is the most active combat zone. The Russian occupants have concentrated more than 110 thousand troops there. The day before there was a deepening of hostilities 10-15 km north of Pokrovsk, which required stabilization of the situation and caused the build-up of enemy units by other formations. For example, the 51st Combined Arms Army was reinforced by the 37th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade from the 68th Army Corps of the Russian Federation. This reinforcement became the impetus for a daring, in some places suicidal operation.

The situation is complicated by the concentration of forces and means of the Russian occupants, who are in a state of permanent assault. Recently the activity of such actions has noticeably increased. Obviously, this is happening against the backdrop of high-level meetings, particularly in the run-up to the meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin in Alaska. Putin, to all appearances, wants to demonstrate the availability of forces, capabilities and capacity to continue active combat operations, including an offensive.

But their "performance" in the area of Dobropillya ended fatally: we can say that for the occupants the situation is critical - "the gut has been cut", the clearing of wooded areas and all other locations where Russian units were located is underway. For them, this operation has ended miserably.

Nevertheless, this shows that Russia is trying to test the weaknesses of the AFU, looking for vulnerable areas for a breakthrough and trying to create a media effect. From a military science point of view, it allowed us to ask the question: they broke through - but how did they ensure that these units advanced 15 km on the front line? Most likely, it was done for media purposes - to show that they are capable of making such breakthroughs. Now all of this has been neutralized and blocked, and the locations are being cleaned up, but the situation still requires attention.
