EU Prepares New Sanctions Against Russia

The 19th package will go into effect in September.

The European Union will adopt the 19th package of sanctions against Russia already in early September.

This was announced by the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen during a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

She emphasized that as long as war continues in Ukraine, Europe will exert diplomatic and economic pressure on Russia.

"We will continue to strengthen sanctions. We have already adopted 18 packages and we are advancing the preparation of the 19th package. It will be adopted in early September," Ursula von der Leyen said.

Reminder that since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the EU has already introduced 18 packages of sanctions against the aggressor country and is now preparing the 19th one.
