Gasoline Prices In Russia Soar To New Historical Records

The WSU has been successful.

Wholesale gasoline prices in Russia continue to break historical records after a series of UAV strikes on oil refineries, of which at least three have completely halted production, writes The Moscow Times.

On Monday, the price of Ai-92 gasoline reached 71.5 thousand rubles per ton at the St. Petersburg Mercantile Exchange, and Ai-95 - 80.43 thousand rubles per ton.

The quotes rose by 1.33% and 2.2% respectively, and since the beginning of the year the price of 92 gasoline has soared by 38%, and 95 - by 49%.

To cool down the fuel market, the Russian government imposed a complete ban on the export of gasoline from the country until the end of August, and then decided to extend it until the end of September. However, export volumes are small and will have little effect on the situation - the country is again facing a full-fledged gasoline shortage, Reuters sources said earlier.

Since the beginning of the month, Rosneft's Novokuibyshevsk refinery (August 2), Rosneft's Saratov refinery (August 11) and Lukoil's Volgograd refinery - the largest in southern Russia and among the top 10 in the country - have stopped due to UAV raids in Russia.

They have a combined capacity of 29.8 million tons per year, which is 11% of Russia's actual oil refining volume, which was 267 million tons last year, according to Reuters estimates.
