Russian Paratroopers Fleeing From Positions In Zaporizhzhya

One of the battalions is breaking records for desertions.

The occupants of the 247th Airborne Assault Regiment of the Russian Army, which is now based in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhya region, are deserting en masse.

The guerrilla movement "ATESH" reports that the most desertions are recorded in one of the battalions of the regiment. The main reason is forced mobilization of residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya and Crimea.

"Powerlessness, incompetence of the command, refusal to register reports, intimidation and constant losses at the front only increase the desire to escape," the movement notes.

Part of the military are recorded in the lists of deserters even after injuries. "ATESH notes that they are taken to the hospital without proper registration, so commanders attribute their absence to escape.
