Explosions In Sevastopol: NASA Satellites Confirmed The Fire At The Military Airfield

The fire has not yet been extinguished.

The Russian occupiers write off nighttime explosions and fire at the Chersonese airfield in Sevastopol as "exercises" of the Black Sea Fleet, but NASA satellite images show otherwise - the fire has not yet been extinguished.

Telegram channel ASTRA reports this.

Locals heard a series of explosions and saw heavy flames as early as night. Despite official statements by the occupation authorities about "planned emergency drills," people on social media are outraged that they are being "taken for fools."

Analysis of NASA images shows that the fire is still not extinguished.

"Chersonese" is an old military airfield on Cape Chersonese in annexed Sevastopol. Before and during World War II, fighter, attack and torpedo planes were based here.

After the war, the airfield was used by Soviet aviation, then became a place where regiments were disbanded. In 1997 it was designated as a dispersal airfield. Near the airfield is a part of the Navy and the Dnestr radar station.

The airfield is now considered mothballed.

But according to the guerrilla movement ATESH, the facility is used to launch drones attacking Ukraine.

Also, according to their data, in the Cossack Bay near the former airfield is:

oil transshipment terminal - fuel base for the 810th separate brigade of marines;

locations of landing ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation;

military dolphinarium of the Russian Navy (former v/h 13132-K);

elite 561st emergency rescue center of special operations, whose soldiers participated in the storming of Mariupol and are still fighting against Ukraine.
