The BOC Has Completely Caved In To The ROC

The "Moscow Patriarchate" was returned to the name of the church.

The Belarusian Orthodox Church has added affiliation with the Moscow Patriarchate to its name.

The official website of the BOC has changed its logo. Previously it said "Belarusian Orthodox Church," but now the name has become longer - "Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate," noted "Khrystsiyanskaya Viziya".

But "Belarusian Orthodox Church" is now written in brackets, as an addition.

The BOC changed the logo after a remark from Moscow. Over the past decades, Belarus has developed a consensus to name its church as the "Belarusian Orthodox Church" without the cumbersome definition of "Moscow Patriarchate." But the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church is annoyed by this.

In one of its July resolutions, the Synod reminded the BOC leadership that all names should contain the wording "Russian Orthodox Church" or "Moscow Patriarchate." Minsk obeyed almost immediately.
