In the military's estimation, it was definitely not an accident.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces said that Polish airspace was repeatedly violated by Russian drones overnight during Russia's attack on Ukraine. As of this morning, it was unknown exactly how many UAVs flew into Polish airspace, writes Onet.
The information coincides with what Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said during his speech in the Sejm. The prime minister said the first violation of airspace over Poland was recorded around 23:30. The last one was around 6:30. - This gives an idea of the scale. It went on all night," he said. A total of 19 violations were recorded, but these are not final figures.
"This is the first time during this war that the drones came from outside Ukraine, as a mistake or a small provocation by Russia. This is the first time the drones flew directly from Belarus," the Polish prime minister said.
The Onet informant notes that some of the drones were unarmed, but full data on this is not yet available.
"It was definitely not an accident, that's what the military believes. The scale is too large," we heard in government circles.
The drone wreckage is being searched for and identified. One of the objects was found in the village of Czosnowka near Biała Podlaska (Lublin voivodeship). Another drone fell on a residential house in the village of Wyryki in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. The services found several more drones near Mniszkow (Łódzkie Voivodeship) and in the vicinity of a cemetery in the village of Czeczniki in Lubelskie Voivodeship.
