Blogger Igor Losik Has Been Released

He has been incarcerated since June 2020.

Blogger, employee of "Radio Svaboda" Igor Losik has been released. This was reported by the human rights center "Viasna".

He had been in detention since June 2020. In December 2021, Homel Regional Court sentenced him to 15 years in a colony in the "Tikhanovsky case". The blogger was charged with inciting hatred (part 3 of article 130 of the Criminal Code), and organizing mass riots (part 1 of article 293 of the Criminal Code). In detention, he went on hunger strike and tried to commit suicide.

Igor served his sentence in the penal colony-1 in Navapolatsk. Several times he was sent to a punitive isolation center and a cell-type facility.

The Lukashenko regime released 52 prisoners of conscience. The website Charter97.org promptly updates the list of those released.
