A touching meeting with political prisoners, released from Belarusian prisons, was held near the U.S. Embassy in Vilnius. A total of 52 political prisoners were released and forcibly deported to Lithuania in Belarus on September 11, Belsat reported.

The release of political prisoners became possible after a meeting in Minsk between Alexander Lukashenko and U.S. presidential envoy John Cole.

The exact location of Belarusian opposition leader Nikolai Statkevich is unknown.
