Mikalai Dziadok told what really happens in Belarusian prisons.
Released Belarusian political prisoners hold the first press conference in Vilnius.
Anarchist activist and blogger Nikolai Dedok expressed gratitude for the attention to the Belarusian political prisoners:
- I want to thank my friends and colleagues in the anarchist movement, as well as the EU countries, especially Lithuania and Poland.
- Many thanks also to Donald Trump, who despite the remoteness of his country, remembers the political prisoners in Belarus. The world simply has no idea of the scale of torture and abuse of people in Belarus. If I started to tell about it, three conferences would not be enough.
I spent a year in a punitive isolation center, and before my eyes healthy grown men literally went crazy. They would just start howling and calling for their mom in the middle of the night. Torture is not only physical beatings. People in prisons in Belarus are brought to extermination in a sophisticated way.
I call the world, despite the war in Ukraine, to pay attention to this. These years will go down in history as the new 37th. I urge: do not stop, there are people sitting there, they must be saved!
The website Charter97.org will be broadcasting online.
Dedok was detained in November 2020, then sentenced to 5 years in a colony, where a new criminal case was opened against him for "disobedience" to the administration, and transferred from the colony to prison.
