Political Prisoner Vaclav Oreško Is Completely Blind
Vaclav Oreszko

He's in penal colony No. 22.

Released Belarusian political prisoners held their first press conference in Vilnius.

Founder of the weekly "Rehiyanalnaya Gazeta" Alexandr Mantsevich told about the state of health of the Belarusian cultural critic, one of the trade union activists, 70-year-old Vatslav Oreshko:

- We remain political prisoners, because we can't return to our homeland, home, to our families. I would like to remind about one prisoner who is still there: Vatslav Oreshko, born in 1955, a trade union leader, was on the same case with Gennady Fedynich.

He completely lost his eyesight in prison. If he walks down the corridor by himself, he breaks into blood, and he is not the only one who lost his health there. We need to remember these people and their fates.

The website Charter97.org was text online broadcasting the conference.

We recall that on January 5, 2023, Oreshko was sentenced to seven years in prison under a reinforced regime.
