The AFU shot down a Russian Orion strike and reconnaissance aircraft worth several million dollars.
The Commander of the AFU Unmanned Systems Force Robert "Madyar" Brovdy reports this in Telegram.
"Just shot down an Orion strike and reconnaissance craft. 414 OBR Ptahi Madyara, Team Stomp. 16.3 meters - wingspan, 24 hours in the air," he wrote.
"Madyar's Ptahi Madyar said that in total, during the 3.5 years of the war, Ptahi Madyar shot down more than 1,500 Eagles, Zal, Supercams, Shaheds, Gerbers and Lancets, the largest being Merlin and Outpost."
"Orion stayed on the crown," he noted.
What is known about the Orion
The Orion is a medium-altitude drone with a long flight time. It has been in service with the Russian army since 2020.
The airborne equipment is designed for visual, radar or radio-technical reconnaissance with the possibility of long-term patrolling in a certain area.
The weight of the drone is 1,150 kg.
The combat load is 200 kg.
The Air Force of the AFU has shot down Orion drones several times before.
