NATO Says It Intercepted Russian Planes That Invaded Estonia

The Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned Russia's Charge d'Affaires.
North Atlantic Alliance spokeswoman Alison Hart said NATO responded to the violation by Russian fighter jets of Estonian airspace on Friday.
As "European Pravda", she said on X.
The NATO spokeswoman confirmed that on Friday morning "Russian planes violated Estonian airspace."
- NATO immediately reacted and intercepted the Russian planes. This is yet another example of Russia's irresponsible behavior and NATO's ability to respond to such actions," she added.
- On Friday, three Russian MIG-31 fighter jets entered Estonian airspace over the Gulf of Finland without permission and remained there for a total of 12 minutes.
Afterward, the Estonian Foreign Ministry summoned Russia's chargé d'affaires and protested.
EU chief diplomat Kaja Kallas said the violation of Estonian airspace by Russian warplanes was an "extremely dangerous provocation."
