The Authorities Recognized A Major Apple Crop Failure In Belarus

Belarus is facing a serious apple crop failure this year. How the authorities will deal with the situation, said Prime Minister Alexander Turchin after a report to the head of state, BelTA writes.

Because of bad weather this year, it was possible to harvest only 40% of the fruit from the level of 2024.

Turchin cited an example of a farm in Molodechno district. The farmer there managed to get only 10% of the planned harvest.

In this regard, the official hinted at the rise in the price of apples, because of the invested funds, their cost price should increase, so that the farmer would not make a loss and could earn something.

It should be noted that Belarus imports a significant part of apples from Poland. Closing the border could lead to a serious deficit.
