Europe has sharply condemned Russia's strike on Ukraine.

European leaders condemned the missile and drone strike that Russia launched on Ukraine on the night of Sept. 7. In particular, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin a "coward who attacks women and children."

Lipavsky noted in a post on the X network, "Putin pretends to want to end the war, but in reality he only seeks to kill as many Ukrainians as possible."

"Last night he launched more than 800 drones and missiles, killing a mother and her two-month-old baby. A coward who attacks women and children. To talk today about cutting off aid to Ukraine means taking the side of the aggressor," the Czech official said.

The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also reacted to the Russian attack, emphasizing the Kremlin "kills indiscriminately."

"Europe fully supports Ukraine and will continue to support it. We are strengthening Ukraine's Armed Forces, creating long-term security guarantees and strengthening sanctions to increase pressure on Russia. The killing must stop," she said.

The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, also released his reaction to the massive Russian strike.

"Talking about peace while stepping up bombing and attacking government buildings and homes is Putin's version of 'peace.' Russia started this war and Russia has decided to continue it," he wrote.

Costa said Europe should "strengthen Ukraine's defenses and increase pressure on Russia with additional sanctions, in close coordination" with allies and partners.

"My thoughts are with the victims, the wounded and their families. The strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people continue to inspire us all," he added.

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics emphasized that "the Kremlin wants war, not peace," so the answer to it "should be more weapons for Ukraine, more pressure on Russia."

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that "Russia's terrorist 'anti-records' require a decisive response," namely "new, strict sanctions against Russia and more support for Ukraine."

Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silinja called for stopping Russia, which does not want peace but wants "more war, aggression and suffering."

"Another night of deadly airstrikes in Ukraine. Russia has launched strikes in the center of Kiev, damaging a government building. We strongly condemn these strikes. These attacks underscore the urgent need for a ceasefire," wrote Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Waltonen.
